Logo Design for Care Mutual

I have entered into a competition to design the logo for a organisation called CARE MUTUAL.

''CARE stands for Compassionate Alternatives Respecting Everyone.

We are a group of people who believe that patients come first and doctors come as needed. We believe that people's needs are more important than the bottomline, and we believe in finding a "better way" to heal.

Our image needs to be professional because so many companies in the alternative health space are too "airy fairy".

However, we want to portray and image of us being warm and caring to our membership and the community in which we serve.

We Care and are here for the Mutual Benefit of our membership!''

Delirious Flyer

Bacaro Nightclub are launching a new student night on sundays called Delirious, and needed a flyer to promote the night. They wanted it to be influenced by the artwork from the David Guetta albums, which is why I chose the Avant Garde typeface.

New Bacaro Flyer

I was hired to design a new flyer for Bacaro, the Edinburgh Nightclub. The flyer was intended to promote the club to participants at the Edinburgh Festival, offering them free entry.

The front of the flyer had to include the C Venue logo, which is part of the Edinburgh Festival, incase you are wondering why the hell there's a big C on the front :)

Logo Design for URevents

This is a logo that I was asked to create for URevents, a division of the Festival Inns Group. A website could well be made in the near future.

URevents are a division of the Festival Inns Group who have been at the forefront of facilitating some of the biggest events in the Edinburgh.

URevents produce events of all sizes, and no matter how large or how small, they still retain their boutique nature - never forgetting the personal touch that really makes the difference.

I am building a website for a client to promote their new Paintballing venture, called Hardcore Paintball. As well as creating the website I was asked to come up with a logo for them.

Wayhey...my first client!

I've just been hired to design a website for a paintball company in Edinburgh. I'm absolutely delighted to finally get a client and will be starting work on it first thing tomorow! The deadline is pretty tight, especially because it clashes with other commitments but this is a massive opportunity that I'm not gonna miss!

Friday 12 June 2009

While I was converting all of my files from my old computer to my shiny new laptop, I discovered these drawings that I scanned in years ago, so I thought I would upload them!

This is a drawing of one of my favourite music icons, Axl Rose, the lead singer of Guns N' Roses.

This is a drawing of Andrea Corr, the singer from The Corrs, who I think is beautiful.

Stamp Out Sectarianism

This is a poster that I created as one of my first assignments at University. It was created to help the campaign to stop sectarian abuse at football matches in Scotland.

Rock The Burgh 2008

For my Graded Unit during my HNC at Stevenson College, I promoted a fictional music festival set in Edinburgh and called it Rock The Burgh.

This is the logo that I designed for the concert, which uses an old english typeface which is supposed to represent Edinburgh because it is such a historic British city, and the image of the lion rampant playing the guitar is pretty obvious as the lion rampant is a national symbol of Scotland.

This is the poster that I designed to advertise the concert, making use of the logo and including all of the important details about the concert. I chose to have it predominantly blue because the Scottish national flag is blue.

Easton Design - My Online Portfolio

I recently finished designing and building my online portfolio website. I'm so relieved to finally have my own site so I can now link future clients or employers to my work which is so convenient.

I went with the name Easton Design because it sounds professional and obviously makes use of my surname. I wanted it to have its own logo, not only because it makes it more recognisable but also because it can have an influence on the design of my site, for example the colour of the pages. The four colours in the logo represent CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black), the four colours used for printing.

Have a gander at my site here.

Or, copy and paste this http://www.eastondesign.co.uk

What is Chutney-Dug?

If you've came across my blog, you are probably asking yourself , ''what is chutney dug?''. Well, Chutney Dug is a nickname that I get called by my close friends, don't ask me how it started because it's a long and confusing story!

I then started to use the name as my design alias, using it as a signature on many of my designs such as Bebo Skins etc.

I felt it was the best thing to name my blog...so now you know!
